How to share your wish list
Create your list, add your ideas and open Share. Copy the invitation link into the message you send to your family or friends. The invitation page shows your chosen display name and the list title before anyone signs in.
Choose For me when the gifts are for you. Choose For someone else when you’re organising gifts for a partner, child or friend: you’ll see bought marks along with everyone invited. Existing lists can be changed in list settings. Keep the recipient outside the invite if the gifts are a surprise. A valid invitation lets someone join your list with a free Bagsy account. Invitation links expire after 30 days. Keep the link within the people you want to invite.
How to join someone else’s list
Open their invitation and sign in or create a free account. After joining, you’ll find their list in Shared with me. You can return there whenever you need to check a size, find a shop link or choose a gift.
Bagsy works in a browser on Android phones, tablets and computers. If you also use the iOS app, sign in to the same account to see the same lists.
What happens when you mark a gift as bought?
Other invited members see that the item is taken. On a personal wish list, the owner doesn’t see bought marks, so they can keep updating their list without finding out what they’re getting. When a list is set to For someone else, the owner sees bought marks too and can help coordinate purchases.
Marking a gift as bought is a way to coordinate with the group. It doesn’t buy the product, reserve it at a retailer or send anyone money. Follow the shop link to complete the purchase separately. You can undo your own mark if you need to.
You stay in control of sharing
Your other lists and Inbox aren’t included when you share one list. Members can see that list’s item names, notes, prices and shop links. Uploaded photos currently remain private to their owner, so include a useful name and shop link as well.
Use Share to disable new invitations or remove members. Disabling invitations doesn’t remove people who have already joined. If you remove a member, disable existing invitations before creating a new link so they can’t rejoin with the old one.
A few useful answers
Can someone view a list without an account?
They can see the owner’s chosen display name and list title on a valid invitation page. They need a free account to join, view the items and mark gifts as bought.
Does sharing one list make all my lists visible?
No. An invitation is for one list. Your other lists and Inbox stay private unless you share a list separately.
